Iterations:
The Exploration Continues

This exhibition is presented as a time line between 2020-2023 inclusive. The paintings are arranged progressively as topics for compositions are revealed from previous paintings, thereby, weaving a creative thread from one painting to the next.

Linda Newton continues to design and hand cut her own stencils onto mylar. These are used as a basis for compositions. Linda develops the content using colour, line, shape, texture, movement, dimension, and surprise. Surprise is achieved by using either opalescent paint or metallic paint, which becomes illuminated when light catches the painting. She continues to work in series.

The story of

Linda Newton

Through out her life Linda has always drawn and painted, on her own, in school classes, weekend workshops, evening courses, and in formal programmes at Ontario College of Art, Sheridan College and Haliburton School of the Arts.

Once she retired as a Montessori Educator and Spiritual Psychotherapist, Linda applied herself to using her artistic skills and creativity on a full time basis. Over the last 11 years she has developed a method and style of making compositions using stencils she designed and crafted herself.
